I signed onto the computer to check my email, and I of course got sidetracked with all the links, and I ended up on a "news" website for a UK newspaper the Telegraph.
Lately journalists have been pathetic. They're clearly super biased in terms of how they treated the entire Presidential campaign last year, and now they're idolizing the President, even though everything he's done so far has failed. And well, the journalists haven't stopped there. Now they're being stupid and they're focusing on the death of Michael Jackson, even though its already been OVER A WEEK AND A HALF after he died!
I understand journalists want to write about what gets their work read, but enough is enough! I understand a few days of mourning dedicated to a famous celebrity, the media does that; tabloids sell. But seriously, this is just overdone. I've had enough.
I'm very into the news. You know, actual news. Where they discuss important things like the economy, terrorism, war, and immigration. I don't care how old MJ was, or rather how young. I don't care that he was black before he paid a fortune to turn white, even though all the black-people claim him as one of their own.
I don't care.
I also certainly don't care about the idiots who are now claiming his death was a conspiracy (the article was dated about a day after his death, but its circulating now!), I just hope we don't get wacko-Jacko impersonators.
A week and a half is enough already. I don't want to hear about him anymore.
I know, I'm doing exactly what I'm complaining about. I'm talking about Michael Jackson. But I just can't help it. At work...omg...all day long, yesterday, they were talking about whether or not he was buried yet.
ENOUGH is ENOUGH!

I say "I don't care" for about most of the news stories. That's just the way it is. They post nonsense. Over and over and over again.

you can't watch the "news" these days and actually learn anything about actual news.
I was watching The View the other day and one of the things they were discussing was whether or not they're over doing it with the whole MJ thing. One of the women said how its ridiculous that when she was watching the news they were going on and on about MJ's life while the bottom of the tv screen had the news of Korea and Nuclear weapons written out in a tiny font floating by with other "insignificant" news-normal?
This is why I stopped watching/reading news. If there's something important, people will tweet about it.
People have always lived their lives through celebrities. This is why there are all the celebrity gossip magazines and sites.
moshe- yes, there have always been celebrity gossip magazines and such.
but it wasn't until recently that actual NEWS stations discussed such random nonsense. Intense celebrity analysis used to be exclusive to magazines like the Enquirer, and OK, and Star, and People, it wasn't something commonly heard on the 10 o'clock news.
It used to be a brief mention of these people. A short summary of their life accomplishments, and then they'd move on.
MJ has been on the cover of almost every major newspaper for over a week.
Oh, come one, back in early '80s all TV networks discussed "who shot JR?" There were JR pictures on the cover of newpapers and magazines. They literally spent news network time (there was no cable or internet at that time) to speculate who shot a fictional TV Drama character.
In today's terms it's like all TV networkds spending hours speculating about who will win on American Idol.

Talking about conspiracy, one guy wanted me to follow his belief that Obama was buried and MJ is the new president impersonating Obama.
