Pennsylvania

So it's pretty much "official" that Obama and Murtha won Pennsylvania.

Am I missing something or being called a gun totting, religion clinging Republican is meant as an insult?

Am I missing something when I think that voting for guys that insult you is just a dumb move?

I mean, if you really like being beat and insulted, hire a dominatrix, why screw the country?

You don't want to "share your wealth" with people who sit on their butts all day doing drugs?

Pennsylvania insulted you?

No Babysitter. Pennsylvania didn't insult me.

Murtha called the people in Penn racist hicks, and Obama called them gun-totting, religion-clinging republicans.

Yet the Pennsylvania public went for Obama and Murtha.

FrumSkeptic: I know I should probably google this, but it's easier when I hear it from you.

who's Murtha? she's somehow involved with Obama?

John/Jack Murtha is a house representative from PA.

He tried to defend what Obama said on people in Pa, and ended up calling them racist, redneck hicks.

And the people in Pa elected him...from the county he represented.

It goes beyond any logic.

ahh I get it now, perhaps they didn't know that he had called them names, or perhaps they didn't have any other choice.

babysitter- I'm for IQ tests before you're allowed to vote, and some sort of standardized current events/issues exam.

If you don't know atleast 65% (passing) of the stuff that is being discussed by the two campaigns, you can't vote.

Very nice and simple.

I mean, I'm not saying people wouldn't have voted for Obama or Murtha, its likely they would've won eitherway, but GENERALLY not knowing should not be an excuse.

Its not hard to tune in on CNN or the radio.

FrumSkeptic: Sounds good to me.
So they should mail out to each voter a pamphlet of information about the candidates before election so they know what's flying.

FS - Like the idea but it won't pass. You would be called racist and intolerant to have the audacity to expect informed decisions from our voters.

Side note, if most voters were informed, democrats would disappear into oblivion.

babysitter- I didn't think of HOW to pass this informed voter thing. Hadn't thought about it. lol. I guess its just soooo far fetched that I don't bother thinking about it. And it wouldn't be interesting as a post to point out how i would choose to keep voters informed...or maybe it would be...I haven't thought about it yet. lol :)

mlevin- LOL. Sometimes being a racist is not so bad...just make sure not to mention it in the office or college. :)

"Side note, if most voters were informed, democrats would disappear into oblivion."

Nea, some democrats don't mind giving up living conditions for people who should get jobs. My ultimate goal is to try and point out to them how wonderful it is to live in Europe or Canada, where socialism is said to prosper.

They'd have fun there. 14.5% sales tax in Canada.

If they all move there, imagine how prosperous the US would be :)
