Taking it out on Ice Cream

Today my coworker was told that after August she can no longer work. My manager told her that they company was losing money, and that while she fought for her to stay, they (the company owners) said that it wasn't possible, considering the budget. My coworker was so upset. She literally started crying after work was over. My manager said that she'll call her later-on if she's given an "okay" to hire someone else.

I was totally upset. Firstly, there's the fact that she really needs the job. Second, there's the fact that now I'll be the only one in that position at the office, which means more work and stress. Third, there is NO possible way I would be able to handle everything without her. I'd need help for half the things I would do. Plus, she became one of my close friends. I'm going to miss her so much. :'(

So anyway, I came home today from shopping for shabbos, I took out some ice cream, and just felt a bit better. And I was never the type to eat away my sadness, but now, with age, I'm creating new habits. :-(

Well, today it was chocolate chip cookie-dough, if I choose another flavor next time, does that make it less of a habit?

Try beer. It builds the figure better than ice creme.

i don't particularly like beer. But maybe I'll make myself a cosmopolitan tomorrow. That is one yummy drink.

Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough is the only flavor I'll eat. I was raised on chocolate chip and migrated when they added cookie dough. I've never bought anything else.

FrumSkeptic: sorry about your coworker having to leave. Good Luck coping without her.

About Ice Cream, seems to be the typical food choice when your upset about something and don't feel like getting out of bed, at least in movies.

Cookie dough is a good flavor.
I don't think there's anything wrong with making it it a habbit to eat ice cream when your upset. If its dairy then it has calcium which is good. Plus it taste good, so its better than harming yourself in other ways.

Where's the coldstone creamery?

My favorite flavor is peanut butter ice cream, which is strange since I don't really like peanut butter plain, I never had a peanut butter sandwich. But yet in ice cream it taste excellent.

Choc chip cookie dough, excellent choice. I prefer Ben and Jerry's to Coldstone's though... simply because the hunks of cookie dough are ginormous! I've since moved on to Ben and Jerry's Half Baked though. It is a mixture of choc. chip cookie dough and the fudgy brownie/choc. ice cream (can't remember the name) that they make. With all these foods with raw eggs in them I should probably just eat salmonella flavored ice cream...

And smells like bubblegum!
You can get it in Thrifty on McDonald. Well, not today, I took the last 2 packs.

Already did. Yeah, tastes kinda weird. Green Apple is ok sometimes. Raspberry Burst is good. But Arctic Berry, not winter, my mistake, is amazing!

A co-worker of mine quit this week, leaving me all her work, so I feel your stress. That said, Mint Chocolate Chip is the way to go, if you're in the ice cream market.

I remember when I lived in america and could get decent ice cream ;) good vanilla bean, or ben & jerries halfbaked. that being said I do enjoy the gelato from "aldo's" on emek...

if all else fails, red wine! ever red from "ella valley" is a favorite (and in israel it's not mevushal! woo hoo!)
