Elders of Zion

Every time I see an article or an antisemitic blog about "The Jewish Conspiracy" or "The protocols of Elders of Zion" I always ask myself why a group of people who believe that Jews rule the world, would act in the way they do. Their entire thought process is completely irrational. Isn't it the "If you can't beat them join them" policy that should be in effect here?

Here is a quote from Mark Twain:

Concerning the Jew

"If the statistics are right, the Jews constitute but one percent of the human race. It suggests a nebulous dim puff of star dust lost in the blaze of the milky way. Properly the Jew ought hardly to be heard of; but he is heard of, has always been heard of; He is as prominent on the planet as any other people, and his commercial importance is extravagantly out of proportion to the smallness of his bulk. His contributions to the world's list of great names... are also out of proportion to the weakness of his numbers. He has made a marvelous fight in this world, in all the ages; and has done it with his hands tied behind him. He could be vain of himself, and be excused for it. The Egyptian, the Babylonian, and the Persian rose, filled the planet with sound and splendor, then faded to dream-stuff and passed away; The Greek and the Roman followed, and made a vast noise, and they are gone; other peoples have sprung up and held their torch high for a time, but it burned out, and they sit in twilight now, or have vanished. The Jew saw them all, beat them all, and is now what he always was, exhibiting no decadence, no infirmities of age, no weakening of his parts, no slowing of his energies, no dulling of his alert and aggressive mind. All things are mortal but the Jew; all other forces pass, but he remains.

What is the secret of his immortality?"

from the article "concerning the Jews" Harpers (1899) see "The complete Essays of Mark Twain" Doubleday (1963) Pg. 249

Many people question the very same thing Twain questioned. They cannot fathom how such a small nation was able to survive everything. Some groups call us the devil, some call us demonic and evil. All the while, they try to kill us.

I don't understand why they would try to kill us. It makes no sense to me. In the end, they know we'd win. It's already a part of history. It's what happens. So why don't they just join us?

Life is all about survival, and leaving behind a legacy. Once you have a child, you're basically guaranteed a legacy. However, your legacy only goes as far as your descendants. So if your descendants will end up dying out, and fading out in history, your legacy ends there, but if your legacy gets passed on over and over again, and not destroyed, then its as if you survive as well.

The antisemites understand that there is something the Jews are doing right that keeps their traditions and legacies alive and well, yet they try to destroy us. If the important thing is to be the last one standing, wouldn't you join the group that stood against the other great nations? Wouldn't that make the most sense?

The reason that they don't join us is because we, the Jewish People, really don't want them to join.

And as for standing with us, you do mean as a Shabbos Goy don't you?

Can you blame them for feeling as they do when we are taught to feel the same way about them?

Child ish,

Are you seriously comparing the (addmittedly despicable) racism and bigotry that exists among many frum Jews today to the murderous and geniocidal anti-semitism that is expressed by neo-nazi groups and the like on the internet today? The anti-semitism that murdered 1/3 of world Jewry only 60 years ago?

Would you want to join a group that you believe killed your god?

Your history teacher wants you to believe that we learn history not to repeat it. The problem is that it almost never works. Nobody ever learns and the more powerful they are, the more they think they'll do it better this time.
And, people are just plain stupid. Dee Dee Dee.

Actually if modern history is teaching us anything its that Islam is the way to go. Seriously they are winning the game of world domination (anyone hear about the bombings in china lately because they want a state in china?).

I actually had a discussion a few weeks ago on the evolution of religion. (just a theory im throwing out there) I think that if you look at Christianities time line that if you take the age of Islam (1,398 years old) and apply it to Christianity (Approx 1460 AD) you will find many similarities. I think this is the point at which the people of a religion must feel so insecure that they go on murderous rampages (inquisition anyone?)

In any case, Islam currently has a very high number of converts for that reason. If logic would guide us to choose a winning team, I think that the current bet would be on Islam, not Judaism.

RV: People who practice Islam aren't ONE nation. If you want to survive as a nation, it makes no sense to practice Islam. Same with Christianity. While the christains were the dominant religion, the people who followed it were not exactly surviving or the same.

Jewish people have a lineage which can directly be traced. While we aren't the dominant religion, we still are the surviving nation.

Jessica: The Pope (the previos one?) officially said that the Jews didn't kill Jesus.

fs - the pope says lots of things... doesn't mean it undoes what has been said for x amount of years. I'm sure the pope has a lot of influence, but there's not doubt in my mind that people either 1. didn't hear his announcement (for lack of a better word) or 2. aren't catholic.

Jessica: true. Pope says lots of stuff noone listens too.

Realistic Viewer - Your analogy is faulted. Christians were on a murderous rampage waaaaay before the inquisition. Haven't you heard about the crusades (just an example)? Moslems were/are docile lambs in comparison to the Christian atrocities through out the ages. Even the KKK and the Skin Heads, who do not go around and convert people to Christianity back their position with Biblical verses.

Even if we accept your comparison between Christianity & Islam, Judaism isn't in the equation. Christianity & Islam have both been world ascendant religions, which is why you talk of who is "winning". Judaism has never been world ascendant and therefore hasn't been striving to "win". Therefore, Judaism will continue at its historical levels and neither win nor lose.

I agree with DYS last one.

I personally am an underdog rooter so Judaism is the one I go for (not that they are trying to win).
